While holding onto family traditions is important, it’s also ok to adapt.  For example, for extended family get-togethers, as children get older, it might make sense to try a different gift exchange approach. Rather than shopping for everyone, consider drawing names and buying for one person. The time and headaches saved in shopping can be a win to focus on spending time with one another.
